Teacher Training: Ordering Disorder

Computation and Randomness in the Visual Arts

Algorithmic processes that generate artistic forms have a long tradition. Examples include the composer's score, the architect's plan, or the choreographer's notes.

Designed to explore the space between the students' creative vision, randomness, and computing, this course will address algorithmics as a means of artistic creation.

In addition to visual composition techniques based on aleatority, the course will provide contact with works by artists who use algorithmic composition techniques.
